Jennie is the Axarquía correspondent for SUR in English. As well as covering and translating news in the east of Malaga area and Costa Tropical area, she also covers areas including Brexit and EU-UK relations, the environment and writes about the villages and traditions of the east of Malaga area and the Costa Tropical. Karl Smallman is professional photojournalist and web content producer/manager with 40 years experience in the newspaper publishing industry.

He started 'painting with light' on a five-edition-a-day provincial daily newspaper straight from journalism college in pre-digital days and witnessed and was often at the forefront during the introduction of 'new technology' that revolutionised the production process.

Karl worked his way through the ranks to become chief photographer of a multi award-winning newspaper group in the south Midlands region at the tender age of 23.

He has had his photography work published in all UK national newspapers and many magazines.

With the advent of digital media in the newspaper industry he made the switch to web content management and production on titles in the UK and for the last 15 years on award-winning publications in Spain.
