David Tweed started as a cadet finance reporter on The Herald in Melbourne in 1985, later moving to The Australian as resources correspondent. He moved to Europe in 1990 as a freelancer first in Paris then Brussels where he worked for Dow Jones. In 1997 he joined Bloomberg in Paris as a market reporter. In 1999 he transferred to London, where he headed the coverage of the pan-European equity markets that emerged with the euro's adoption.<\/p>\n

In 2005 Bloomberg posted him to Tokyo where he managed the 40 or so reporters and editors covering Asian economics.<\/p>\n

In 2009, David switched from print to television as London-based Europe Editor, a job that mostly entailed standing in front of famous monuments in southern European capitals trying to explain the development of the sovereign-debt crisis in bursts of three minutes an hour, every hour.<\/p>\n

David returned to print in Hong Kong in 2014 reporting on China's growing geopolitical influence in Asia and beyond. Most recently he wrote and presented Bloomberg Turnaround, a five-part TV series focusing on the corporate turnarounds of Qantas, PSA Group, AstraZeneca, Moncler and Carlsberg.<\/p>\n
