The Costa Press Club has renewed its cooperation agreement — known formally as a convenio — with the Asociación de la Prensa de Málaga (APM), as announced during the club’s Annual General Meeting. The renewal marks a continued commitment to building bridges between the province’s foreign-language media community and the established Spanish press.

The APM functions as the professional college for graduate, registered journalists operating within the province, and forms part of the broader FAPE network that spans the whole of Spain. It is, in other words, one of the most significant institutional voices for professional journalism in the region.

The convenio itself is a non-binding agreement, but its practical value is considerable. It is designed to facilitate the exchange of information and contacts between both organisations, and to encourage the joint promotion of events and initiatives that benefit members on both sides. At its core, the agreement reflects a shared interest: the APM seeks a greater understanding of how foreign-language media operate on the Costa del Sol and throughout the province, while the Costa Press Club gains access to Spanish national and provincial media networks that would otherwise be difficult to navigate.

The agreement was formalised through signatures by Elena Blanco, President of the APM, and Neil Hesketh, representing the Costa Press Club — a moment that underlines the growing recognition of the club’s role as a serious voice within the wider media landscape of Málaga province.
