When?

Monday, 21 September 2026. Meet at 6.30pm for a 6.40pm start at the 112 Coordination Centre.

Where?

112 Coordination Centre. C. Severo Ochoa, 30, Campanillas, 29590 Malaga.

Easy access off the A-357 (Guadalhorce) motorway just outside Malaga city. Best access from the Costa towns is via the A-7 outer ring motorway around Malaga.

Public transport options are the train to Campanillas (cercanías, C2 Álora line) then taxi/Uber, or Malaga city buses 19 or 25, running roughly every 20 minutes on average from central Malaga.

We need help from volunteer drivers with spare car spaces to give people a lift if needed - see the transport note below.

After the tour and talk, it’s two minutes to the hotel for supper: “Menú del Día” at Hotel Posadas de España, at about 8.15pm, just by the motorway exit for home. C. Graham Bell, 4, Campanillas, 29590 Malaga.

What?

A tour and talk at the 112 Emergency Control Centre of the Junta de Andalucía, covering eastern Andalucía. Over one million 112 calls come in a year here for Malaga province alone (more on this below).

The tour and talk will be in Spanish, with English “headline” translations available as needed.

Cost to members for supper afterwards: €15 (guests €25). We will assume you are eating unless you tell us otherwise. Menu below.

A few guest spaces should be available for the 112 visit; they will go on a waiting list until 10 September while we gauge demand from members - provisionally one guest per person, at least to begin with. There are no limits on guest spaces for supper afterwards.

Why?

EMA 112 Agencia de Emergencias de Andalucía logo

Not normally open to the public, the 112 Emergency Coordination Centre at Málaga TechPark, part of the Junta de Andalucía, is a key part of civil protection in the Andalucía region.

It coordinates emergency calls and emergency responses for eastern Andalucía. The call centre handles well over one million calls a year for Malaga province alone (many of which are redistributed to other organisations - some 140 organisations are linked into the 112 support network, including national government, Infoca, Bomberos, Policía Local, the Unidad Militar de Emergencias, Cruz Roja and Endesa).

As well as day-to-day multilingual call answering, the centre swings into action in times of crisis, such as forest fires and floods, ensuring help is coordinated and effective. Also based in the same building are Protección Civil and the provincial centre for Infoca fire defence.

How?

Please confirm attendance (to info@costapressclub.com only) by the end of Wednesday 16 September, along with your menu choices (see below).

Transport: We need support from members prepared to drive and offer spare car spaces, so that as many members as possible without transport can come. Please let us know if you can offer spare spaces from where you live or a point en route (sharing petrol cost if necessary), or if you would like a lift or are prepared to share an Uber. We will try to coordinate as best we can - the drive to the venue is easy, close to Malaga and motorway all the way.

Pay in advance to the Club account, or by card or cash on the night. Bank details available on request.

Late cancellations or no-shows for the meal will be charged.

Please let us know your starter and main course choice by the end of Wednesday 16 September, to info@costapressclub.com.
