Join the Costa Press Club

Membership of this respected international press club is a great way to expand industry contacts, meet like-minded new friends and gain peer and professional recognition for your work in media.

What are the advantages of membership?
All members receive the right to a listing on this website, frequently used as a contact directory by organisations researching information on journalists/writers/producers in southern Spain.

Attendance at our frequent evening dinner meetings at a special subsidised members' rate, with the possibility to invite guests. Many meetings have interesting guest speakers before dinner.

Occasional special events and offers exclusive to club members.

A Costa Press Club official press accreditation membership card.

Optional use of a personal specific @costapressclub.com email address.

Permission to use the Costa Press Club logo on business cards/professional stationery/website.

Who is eligible?
Anyone working in a content generation role in the press, media or communications industry on the Costa del Sol or in Malaga province, either from the Spanish or international resident communities and either freelance or employed by a company.
How can people apply to join?
Either contact the president Neil Hesketh, secretary Joanna Styles or treasurer membership secretary Peter Leonard, or attend the next meeting of the club (see website for details).

To apply for membership you must be nominated and seconded by two current members. You should also include a brief covering note explaining your reasons for joining us and details of your relevant media experience and/or web links. The application is then considered by the committee, which – according to the statutes - must approve it unanimously.

You can download the application form in Word format here or as a pdf here.

In some cases, people who have previously worked in a content generation role in the media may also join.

As one of the basic tenets of the club is, “to provide a regular social forum/meeting place for resident and visiting foreign and Spanish journalists”, all members are encouraged to attend at least one or two meetings a year.

How much does it cost?
30€ as a one-off joining fee plus 40€ a year (i.e. a total of 70€ in the first year).

Note: Membership is renewed each January. If a member joins part way through the year, the annual fee is applied pro rata. E.g., join in June, pay 20€ until January.

If you need any further information regarding membership please contact Neil Hesketh or Peter Leonard
